a few things i found interesting/motivational/awesome

21.04.12 - Getting back into it

Ok, so only 3.5km today, but the hip held up well, even on the freaking mountainous hill I climbed/walked!!! Woot woot

And I did another 6500 steps yesterday (with stupid gammy hip) and have clocked up 5000 so far today :)

And another small but exciting thing, I have a gap!! Lol, between the top of my legs, now this I can't ever remember having, so something I am doing is working!!! *runs around squealing excitedly*
Holy cow - 960cals burnt today!! Woohoo

Just did another 6.5km brisk walk/hill hike, so a total of 10km done today, and 15146 steps walked today so far!!

20.04.12 - hopefully the end of gammy hip!!!

Pedometer steps for yesterday : 6760 (not bad for a gammy hip!!)

after 5 hip/butt/lower back massages, a few hot baths/showers, I may be on the mend! yay!

Can't wait to get out on the weekend for a run/bike ride/walk....either or combination will be fine by me!! I am missing the buzz I get and the energy boosts, but my calorie intake has been great and this morning I weighed in at 84.5kg...so the rest I have had this week has helped!

bloody body is letting me down today :(

barhumbug! I either pinched a nerve in my hip/sciatica/put my hip out yesterday and OMG I had the worst sleep last night! every time I went to roll it was agony and I woke, and that was after a hot bath and a massage! so Hubby has done a thorough massage this morning and I can at least walk so will just focus on some upper body weights today as I can't walk my normal 5.6km route (let alone up to the sheds! lol)

I did manage to do 6458 steps yesterday even with a bung hip, so will see how many steps I clock up today being a hobbler, lol....I do eventually once my hip is better, plan to do 10,000 steps or more per day (gotta love pedometers!!! )

"Total Daily Steps: The simplest pedometers only count your steps and display steps and/or distance. This may be all you need to track to keep yourself motivated towards a goal of 6000 steps per day for health, or 10,000 steps per day for weight loss. However, some pedometers (or pedometer functions of other devices) are built for using only during workouts rather than running all day. " found on this Walking site

Weightloss tips from an awesome inspiring woman - Trish :)

You really do have to eat breakfast, it boosts your metabolism. I never ate breakfast before but i do everyday now.

I do have time to eat properly, im just making excuses

I do have time to exercise, i just need to stick to it, i need to make it a priority, me a priority

Weightloss doesnt happen over night, if there was a EASY WAY we would know about it coz we would have seen it on oprah lol. one kilo a week is the healthy amount to lose, some weeks there will be no loss some weeks you mite lose more than a kilo.

Dont give up, one bad meal or snack is not the end of the lifestlye change.

There will be setbacks but i need to get back on track straight away, dont let it turn into a binge session

Keep a diary, track your weight, exercise, measurements and feelings, this is how i identified the causes of my binge eating.

Exercise is important, start slow maybe a pedometer and walking and progress to harder stuff as you get fitter

Make changes slowly, start by dropping portion sizes, add exercise, drink water, eat breakfast, increase protien ( keeps you full longer)

Try new foods, stop drinking soft drink.

When i binge eat the only person im punishing is myself

Eat regularly, keep some almonds in your bag as an emergancy snack
allow yourself one (portion controlled) treat meal a week.
